Siri on your iPhone

Before we show you how to completely turn off Siri on your iPhone, if you just want to temporarily turn off Siri, there’s a neat trick you may not have known about.

Siri does not respond if you put your iPhone on the table with the screen facing down. Unintentional activation is therefore impossible. Incidentally, this is also the case when your iPhone is in your pocket, covered and when the energy saving mode is switched on.

It is possible to disable this and ensure that Siri is always listening, even in your pocket. You do this as follows:

  • Open the Settings app;
  • Tap on ‘Accessibility’;
  • Scroll down and tap Siri;
  • Enable the “Always listen for ‘Hey Siri'” option.

This way you completely disable Siri

You can turn off Siri on your iPhone with confidence, because you can always activate it by pressing and holding the side button. Unless you disable that option, of course. How to turn off Siri on your iPhone:

  1. Open the Settings app;
  2. Tap “Siri & Search”;
  3. Turn off the “Listen for ‘Hey Siri'” option.
