The first MacBook Pro with a 3nm chip is expected in the fall
Apple will offer a new MacBook Pro before the end of the year that will carry a chip with a 3 nm burning process, according to information from Digitimes.
“According to industry sources, the next generation of Apple’s MacBook Pro, scheduled to launch in the third quarter, will feature 3nm processors”says the publication.
It is very likely that we are talking about the new MacBook Pro with a 13-inch screen and the M3 chip. This ties in with previous rumors about it.
Just yesterday, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman announced that Apple is expected to launch the first M3 Macs in October. He alluded to the iMac, 13-inch MacBook Air, and 13-inch MacBook Pro. As for other models, including the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
On the side of the iPad, Apple would offer the M3 chip with the iPad Pro. But we would have to wait until the beginning of 2024 to discover the new tablet.
To give an idea, the M2 chip has an engraving in 5 nm, against 3 nm for the future M3 chip. This will notably improve performance, while offering better autonomy.
