Stijn Fransen talks about tough childbirth: ‘Placenta did not come loose’

Actress Stijn Fransen (32) gave birth to her second child on July 8. A daughter, Nine. Earlier she indicated that she had to recover from the tough delivery, but now she also explains what happened.

“I am proud, because the delivery was quite tough. The placenta that didn’t come off, things like that. That’s why we relax in bed for a while. Just relax,” she tells RTL Boulevard.

Placenta not detaching

In principle, the placenta should be born within an hour. On average, this is even after about 15 minutes. Usually you get a big after-effect and then you have to push one more time. Sometimes it does not work and you are given oxytocin. If a placenta has not detached an hour after the birth of the child, it is surgically removed. If you gave birth at home, you will be taken to hospital by ambulance. This is done under general anesthesia in the hospital.

Whether this was also the case with Stijn is not known. But it was spicy. Also thanks to the ex-GTST actress for all the sweet congratulations. And more importantly: the little girl is doing “super well”.

A family of 4

Son Lieuwe is also in love with little Nine. “He is over the moon!” says the actress. “It’s ‘baby, baby’ all day or he has to check the crib. It’s really delicious! So much love. A family of 4.”
