Apple Music Classical launched – this is how you get the service for free

It took a while, but Apple has finally launched Apple Music Classical. The new music service is – as the name suggests – specifically intended for streaming classical music. In total, there are more than 5 million classic songs and works in the new app, which can be listened to in the highest sound quality (up to 192 kHz/24-bit Hi-Res Lossless).

Thousands of recordings are also provided with spatial audio, so that you are completely immersed in classical music. Apple Music Classical was officially released today and can be listened to immediately in the Netherlands. And the best news: you get Apple Music Classical for free with your Apple Music subscription.

This is what the new classical music service looks like

In Apple Music Classical you have the option to search by composer, work, conductor or catalog number. This way you can easily find the best work of your favorite composer or conductor. Can’t remember the titles of the pieces? No problem, you can also search by instruments that appear in the work or by periods in which certain songs were released.

Apple Music Classical is also great for discovering new composers with the “Composers: Undiscovered” playlist. In the catalog you can also choose whether you want to listen to an orchestra, a soloist or a choir. Are you looking for modern classical music, for example from films? Apple Music Classical also features music from movies like Harry Potter, Star Wars, and The Wizard of Oz.

Apple Music Classical: Here’s how to get it

Apple’s new music service can be downloaded for free from the App Store from today. If you already have a subscription to Apple Music, you will receive Apple Music Classical for free, so you will no longer have to pay for your subscription. You already get a subscription to Apple Music 10.99 euros per month. As a family you can purchase a combi subscription (15.99 euros) and as a student you only pay 5.99 euros!

Have you never subscribed to Apple Music? Then you can use a free trial period of one month. With the purchase of some music-related Apple products, you also get free Apple Music for six months. For example, you get a free six-month subscription when you buy new AirPods.
