Google: a conference in Paris on February 8 for research and AI
Google has chosen the date of February 8 to organize a conference which will deal with search and artificial intelligence. The event will be held in Paris at 2:30 p.m. and will last 40 minutes according to Google.
“Hear how we’re reimagining the way people search, explore and interact with information, making it more natural and intuitive than ever to find what you need”, says Google in its invitation card. It will be possible to see the conference on YouTube from this address.
In the phone call following the release of Google’s fourth quarter 2022 financial results, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said how the company is harnessing the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence translates into how it focuses its investments. “AI is the most fundamental technology we are working on today”said the leader.
Sundar Pichai added that Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is in a “great position as AI hits inflection point” and that the company “has been preparing for this moment since the beginning of last year”.
The conference comes as Microsoft announced a multi-billion dollar, multi-year investment in ChatGPT creator OpenAI, which some say poses a credible threat to Google’s search dominance. Microsoft could somehow import ChatGPT into its Bing search engine.
