Netflix test timer on Android, that’s how it works
Netflix has begun the global rollout of a timer on Android. It is part of a new test.
Don’t you use a timer to keep track of whether your eggs have already been cooked? Apparently Netflix also sees opportunities in this application. Of course that requires a little explanation. The American streaming service has started rolling out the test on Google’s mobile operating system today.
With the timer, Netflix wants to help viewers set a limit. Suppose you have to go somewhere at 16:00 and it is 15:25 at that moment, then you still have a good half hour to thaw the time. By setting a timer you can watch Netflix without worrying about the time. Of course you can also independently set a timer via the standard app on Android, but that is a bit cumbersome.
You can set a time of 15, 30 or a maximum of 45 minutes. Unfortunately, it is possible to enter a self-entered time. This is still a test, so perhaps this will change at a future stage. Although the timer can now be found exclusively in the Android version of Netflix, the feature will be rolled out to other platforms. The timer can be found in the top right of the Netflix app when you are watching a series or movie. (via The Verge)
