Most traded stocks in December 2022: the details

Compared to the previous months, the most traded stocks rotated significantly more in December 2022. Tesla and Amazon still occupy the first two places. However, there were some changes in the following positions in the ranking.

PayPal stock is back

Like Amazon and Tesla, Apple and Nvidia are also among the long-running favorites of Smartbroker customers and are accordingly among the ten most traded stocks in December 2022. PayPal stock, meanwhile, is back in the top ten.

After a downward trend, the price of the securities has recently been on the spot, but PayPal recorded a price increase of around ten percent at the beginning of January.

This in turn confirms the increased trading volume in December 2022, also with a current forecast by CEO Daniel Schulman. Accordingly, earnings per share could be slightly higher than previously expected.

The newcomers: BASF and Biontech

Also back in the ranking: BASF and Biontech shares. While the securities of the chemical group BASF increased by almost ten percent at the beginning of 2023, the securities of Biontech recently stopped. The reason for the euphoria surrounding BASF is meanwhile forecasts to increasing dividends in the current year.

The increased trading volume of Biontech shares is likely to be related to the “JPMorgan Healthcare Conference” in San Francisco. On January 10, 2023, CEO Ugur Sahin wants to announce a company update there. According to Biontech there will also be a live stream.
