Things are going really well at Microsoft!
Literally every department of Microsoft is opening the champagne today, because the quarterly figures are more than impressive.
Things are going very well at Microsoft, according to the latest quarterly figures of 2021. Literally every division of the billion-dollar company improved in Q4 of 2020. Divisions such as Azure and and Xbox even went exceptionally fast. Even the failing departments managed to generate a little extra turnover.
Microsoft quarterly figures do not lie
In the last quarter of 2020, Microsoft again made exceptional progress. From October to December, the American company earned $ 41.3 billion, more than € 34 billion. Compared to the turnover of the same quarter in 2019, this is an increase of no less than 17%. In total, profits increased by 33% in the same period.
Outliers are, for example, Xbox and Azure. The first of course saw a gigantic launch of the Xbox Series X | S (check our review here). Even though PlayStation 5 dominates the gaming market worldwide, Xbox also made huge progress. Due to the new console, the Game Pass that is not becoming more expensive and all (exclusive) games, turnover increased by 40%.
Cloud services were also the big winner for Microsoft. Think of Azure, which raised 50% more money than a year ago. Office for individuals and Windows cloud services also provided an extra sandwich for the American company.
The misses were also spot on
In terms of disappointments, there are few things to criticize about Microsoft’s quarterly figures. Because even the biggest misses still saw an increase. Think of Windows delivered with ready-made PCs (1%), advertising with search results (2%) and the Surface tablets (3%) rose a bit.
In short, Microsoft cannot complain at all since literally every division achieved at least a little extra turnover. Profits also increased enormously. In short, Bill Gates approves!
