Twitter approves of misinformation and scraps Covid guidelines
Following Elon Musk’s takeover, Twitter scrapped its own Covid policies. The platform thus accepts false information with approval. New owner Musk had already railed against government measures at the beginning of the pandemic.
Without any notice, Twitter scrapped its Covid policies. The short message service will thus accept false information after the takeover by Elon Musk in the future. Only on the Transparency website of the company, a short sentence refers to the change.

“Effective November 23, 2022, Twitter is no longer enforcing the COVID-19 Misleading Information Policy,” it said. The brief note was apparently dated retrospectively. Because, as some users reported on social media, the message first appeared on the night of November 29, 2022.
Also in Help Center Twitter’s section on dealing with misinformation no longer includes references to the company’s Covid policies. The information still appears only on the German-language version of the website.
Elon Musk accepts false information with approval
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter, more and more users have been reporting increasing spam messages and fake accounts. After the abolition of the Covid guidelines, the flood of misinformation is likely to continue to increase.
