These apps are used by the Exmox CMO

In the “Homescreen!” series we present the homescreens of people from the social media, marketing, media and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Manuel Tolle, founder of recommended.de and CMO of Exmox.

Manuel Tolle has already founded more than ten startups. He recently sold his company Exmox for around 100 million euros, but still works there as CMO.

Networking is everything

Manuel Great: In my job as CMO, it is important for me to be in regular contact with my team and partners. Especially when I’m working remotely, which happens regularly.

That’s why I have a bunch of different apps for my daily communication: Skype (for Android), gmail (for Android), Outlook (for Android), Slack (for Android), zoom (for Android) and Whatsapp (for Android).

Some of them I use for business and pleasure – Slack and Skype exclusively for business. In order to keep track of all discussed to-dos, I make a note of them Keep (for Android) from Google.

“I love it when it’s organized.”

I don’t just organize my notes in an app. I also manage all receipts that go to the tax consultant with little effort Getmyinvoice (for Android). I book my hotels quickly and easily via the Booking app (for Android). Above (for Android), FreeNow (for Android) as well as car sharing or taxis in general, I also use for travel.

New contacts play a central role in professional success

For me, making new contacts is essential when it comes to my career. For this I mainly rely on the app from LinkedIn (for Android), very rarely Xing (for Android).

Goodbye Instagram and Facebook

I clean out my apps at regular intervals. Recently, Facebook and Instagram have flown off my phone. They only hold me up and cost me time, but ultimately bring no added value. The Facebook ad manager (for Android) I love going there to check and adjust my current campaigns.

Apps for knowledge and leisure

Finanzen.net (for Android) and Comdirect (for Android) I use for managing my and acquiring knowledge about stocks. That’s not all about further training, because Audible (for Android) and blinklist (for Android) I particularly like.

The last time I listened was Andre Kostolany’s The Art of Thinking About Money. Also, Magic, a card game I’ve been playing since I was a kid, shouldn’t be missing. This is mostly used when traveling when there is time.
