Demand for the iPhone 14 Plus remains weak
The iPhone 14 Plus is really struggling to find its audience. This was already the case at launch and it is still the case today, as the reports screen analyst Ross Young.
“Screen shipments for the iPhone 14 Plus are expected to be close to zero in December as demand for this model stagnates”, explains Ross Young. Apple is therefore struggling to sell its existing stock and does not need to order more tiles from its suppliers.
What future for the iPhone 14 Plus? Despite the difficulties with sales and a recent production stoppage, Apple plans to offer an iPhone 15 Plus in 2023. But the smartphone could suffer the same fate as the iPhone mini, namely disappearing from the range if success is not there. .
Meanwhile, the analyst says the full iPhone 14s are doing better than last year’s iPhone 13s, with screen order up 10% this time around. Also, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max continue to be the most popular models in the range, which naturally affects the average selling price. Ross Young says the average selling price is up 10%.
Regarding the distribution of high-end models, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max represent 64% of sales for the entire range. By comparison, the share was 51% for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. It must be said that the iPhone 14 Pro offer some new features such as the Dynamic Island, where the non-Pro models are generally a disappointment compared to their predecessors. This therefore pushes to turn to the Pro models in the event of an upgrade.
