Facebook has data from you even without an account – this is how you delete it
At Meta, a lot revolves around the business with data. But it’s not just about user data. Even the data of people who never had a Facebook or Instagram account can end up with the group. We’ll show you how to delete your data on Facebook.
With Instagram and Facebook, the meta group has two of the most popular social networks under its roof. Millions of people use the platforms worldwide. But many deliberately do without the networks. However, the company may know more about these non-users than they would like.
Because the US group has partially saved information such as telephone number and email address from people without a Facebook account. We’ll show you how to find out what data Meta has stored about you – and how you can delete it directly.

How does Meta get your data?
Of course, the question arises as to how the company gets your data – even if you don’t yet have a Facebook or Instagram account. But that’s easy to explain.
As soon as your contact information appears in another address book, it may already be dead. Because if a friend of yours logs into Facebook, for example, Meta compares the address book. The platforms want to find out who they can suggest as potential friends.
Meta processes your name, mobile number and/or email address when we receive it from our users via the contact upload or contact sync feature available on Facebook, Messenger or Instagram.
Meta also processes this data “if you are not a Facebook, Messenger or Instagram user,” it says on the relevant page in the help section.
Facebook: How to delete your data
This page also takes you to the tool where you can delete your data. Once this has been done, they will not be uploaded again if they are synchronized again with an address book.
Click here if you have a question about the rights you may have.
Since Meta’s business is based on data, the link to delete of your data is also hidden. But once found, you can reach your goal in just a few steps.
The Facebook data is deleted in three steps
First of all, on this page you have to select which contact details Meta should search for. Here you can choose between mobile number, landline telephone number and e-mail address.
Click on one of the three options and then enter the relevant information in the next step. Here you can also specify where Meta should search for the information: Facebook and Messenger or Instagram.
For step three you will receive a confirmation code – either to the specified email address or telephone number. Once you have entered the code, you only have to confirm that you really want the group to delete your data.
