Motorola Watch 200 smartwatch leaked: this is what we expect

Motorola has plans for a new smartwatch that will be called the ‘Motorola Watch 200’. The watch has a rectangular design and works with its own operating system. A number of things are already known about the specifications.

Motorola launched a new smartwatch last year called the Watch 100. It now looks like the brand is working on a new watch and it’s almost ready for launch. The Motorola Watch 200 has been leaked at the regulator FCC.

What immediately stands out is the rectangular design of this new watch, because the Watch 100 still had a round shape. The smartwatch also has a color screen and we see two physical buttons on the side. The strap of the watch is removable, so you will be able to exchange it for something else.

And then the specs. The watch works with built-in GPS and it is 5 ATM water resistant. You will therefore be able to take the Watch 200 to the swimming pool. The watch can also analyze your sleep and it measures the oxygen level in your blood. These are all functions that were already part of the Watch 100. Little is known about the battery life, but it was two weeks with the Watch 100.

No Wear OS

The smartwatch probably works with its own Moto Watch OS instead of Wear OS, which means you can’t install third-party apps. Although at the same time it also contributes to a better battery life compared to Wear OS smartwatches. Motorola was one of the pioneers of Wear OS with the Moto 360 watches, when the operating system was still called “Android Wear”. In 2016, the brand stopped releasing watches for several years.

The Motorola Watch 100 was on sale for $99 in the United States and it was easily available through gray imports in the Netherlands and Belgium. It is not known whether the Watch 200 will officially appear on our market and nothing is known about the price yet.
