Pixel Watch: Google manager gives iPhone owners hope
Google’s Pixel Watch is the new star in the smartwatch sky – at least for Android smartphone owners. On the other hand, if you use an iPhone, you look into the tube. The Pixel Watch is not compatible with the Apple cell phone. But that could change in the future.
If you own an iPhone, you can hardly avoid the Apple Watch. While there are many smartwatches that are also compatible with an iPhone, Apple’s closed-loop approach makes them cumbersome to use. The US group does not even allow many functions. This should also be the reason why the Pixel Watch is currently not compatible with the iPhone. Google manager Rick Osterloh has not given up hope that this will change in the future.
Pixel Watch could be iPhone compatible in the future
Osterloh told Joanna Stern of the Wall Street Journal that the Pixel Watch “one day hopefully” will understand with the iPhone. However, the manager who heads the hardware department at Google could not elicit more.
With iPhone compatibility, Google would give Apple a double hit. The search engine provider could once more than represent a free and open alternative to the cult manufacturerwhich welcomes all users with arms outstretched.
On the other hand, there are probably quite a few iPhone owners who would like to try the Pixel Watch – after all the Google smartwatch offers a more classic watch look with its round case. The Apple Watch, on the other hand, looks like a nerdy bracelet computer.

Pixel Watch and Apple Watch: Expensive accessories
But Apple Watch and Pixel Watch have one thing in common: the steep accessory prices. For example, Google wants 129 euros for the Milanese bracelet, which is even a bit more expensive than the big competitor. At Apple, a comparable bracelet for the Apple Watch costs 99 euros.
If you pre-order one of the new Pixel 7 Pro, you get the Pixel Watch for free. The smartwatch normally costs 379 euros for the WLAN version and 429 euros for the model with LTE.
