The authors explain the context of the recent teaser on STALKER 2 -apkrig

Just before the end of the year, the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World surprised us with a short preview of the game STALKER 2. This was the very first excerpt from the game as such. The authors themselves termed the trailer the term in-engine gameplay teaser. They have now published more details via Xbox Wire.

They reportedly have come a long way since July, when they introduced the game with their first trailer on the Xbox Games Showcase. That’s why they wanted to show off new shots. Danger according to GSC Game World will be ubiquitous, environments should change frequently and will be sinister. As it turned out from the teaser itself, the main character is the stalker Skif. It will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors, but STALKER 2 offers a new protagonist and a story.

Given all the circumstances, it is said that it is easy to overlook that someone is hiding in the shadows.

The short scene we watched is situated in a former school on the outskirts of the infamous town of Pripyat. It is said to be an extremely dangerous place where no one should stay. Still, it’s not quite deserted. A campfire is burning and a guitar is standing near the fireplace. However, according to the developers, the skiff does not have time to pay attention to such details at that moment, because someone or something is chasing him.

A dangerous emission radiates from the center of the Zone, which can deprive you of your life in an instant. When a stalker notices this phenomenon, he should hide immediately, the authors advise. Until the danger subsides. That’s why Skif hurries, looking for shelter in the nearest building. But a broken school can hardly provide him with enough security. In addition, his PDA is not working properly, he has no signal. Given all the circumstances, it is said that it is easy to overlook that someone is hiding in the shadows.

The GSC revealed that if the guitar motif behind the trailer is familiar to you, it’s no coincidence. It is a song The Line of Life (Линия Жизни) by the Russian rock band Splín (Сплин). According to the authors, it fits perfectly into the scene they created. And they advised the fans to listen to the whole song, which they think is sad and touching at the same time.

In terms of development advances, the developers say they are moving smoothly, including versions for the Xbox Series X and S consoles. They praise the fast SSD, support for ray tracing on Series X and S and 4K resolution on Xku. They believe that the ultimate experience they promised at the beginning will come out of the title.

The exact release date is still kept secret by the team, but the game will be released simultaneously not only on the PC and Xbox, but also directly in the Game Pass subscription program from Microsoft. The game may be released more than 10 years after its original announcement and is powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine technology. The authors promise a huge open world full of radiation, mutants and anomalies. The non-linear story will branch out and based on our decisions we will also reach different ends.

We will go to well-known places and to completely new locations, and the developers promise to satisfy veterans of the series as well as complete newcomers. As in previous games, support for modifications created by the fans themselves should play an important role. It will be very interesting to see how the rivalry between STALKER 2 and Chernobylite will turn out, at least in terms of aesthetics and the design of the world.
