Android 13 is now officially available. The latest Android version has been extensively tested in recent months and it has now come to be rolled out to the first devices. The Pixel devices are the first to act.

Android 13 is here

There has been a lot of news about Android 13. The latest Android version is now officially available and so the flag can be raised. In the coming weeks and months, more Android devices will be updated with an update to Android 13. Until then, some Pixel models will be the first to be offered the new update. Google is quite on time with the Android 13 update. Android 12 was released in October; Android 11 in Sept.

Now Android 13 is already available in August, so it is obvious that the updates for other devices will also appear earlier. In November last year, Android 12 appeared for the Galaxy S21 series. We expect that Samsung for the S22 series can release the update to Android 13 as early as October, or perhaps even at the end of September. In any case, beta testing is in full swing for this.

Thanks to the previous test versions, we already know what’s new with Android 13. In addition, Google has already shared a lot of information about this. New is, for example, the possibility to cast icons of non-Google apps in the same style/color as the background of your home screen. You can also expect more privacy options, where you can, for example, set which apps can access your photos, but not your videos and vice versa. The permission screens with permissions have been updated with Android 13, and you can “stream” your messages from Google Messages directly to a Chromebook, which is similar to iMessage on an Apple Mac(Book). In addition, this should work with other apps, such as Signal’s and, according to Google, “Many of your other favorite messaging apps.”

There is also the new media player with support for Bluetooth LE. All the new features in Android 13 are bundled in this article.
