‘There was a drawing of a genitals on the table in the train’
Bags packed, tickets booked to Paris and iPads left at home. Anneloes wanted a screenless outing, but her two rascals clearly did not agree.
Anneloes (39): “We had booked a weekend in Paris with the boys and had brought paper and markers to keep them calm on the train. They were furious that we left the iPads at home, but I just wanted a screenless getaway.
Artistic execution
Luuk and I had brought a book and therefore did not pay attention to what was happening next to us. Only when the boys started laughing louder did we look up. The table they were drawing on was covered in marker. ‘KUT’, Mees (7) had written. And Jorrit (6) had indulged in an artistic performance of a male genitalia.
And what you will just see, exactly at that moment the conductor entered the compartment. We very quickly put our books on the creative excess of the children and then luckily we were able to get it away with the better cleaning work.

Screenless outing
‘If only you had given us the iPad,’ said Mees. We ignored that comment at the time, but then I completely abandoned my screenless principles.”
