T-Mobile bans Huawei from its network
T-Mobile will stop using Huawei equipment for the realization of the telephone network. The provider has announced that it will replace the equipment of Huawei with that of the Swedish Ericsson.
No Huawei in T-Mobile network
Huawei has been accused of espionage and possibly even sabotage for years, but no evidence has ever been found. Yet it is time for the next step that Huawei is less present in the networks. Earlier it became clear that provider KPN is replacing Huawei’s equipment with that of another brand in the core of the network, Vodafone already did not have the stuff and T-Mobile is now also taking this decision. In 2018, T-Mobile indicated that it still had confidence in Huawei.
To renew the radio and antenna work, equipment from Ericsson, a manufacturer from Sweden, is now being used, T-Mobile announced. It is not entirely clear when T-Mobile will stop with Huawei. Equipment that is still good will not be discarded yet, the magenta-colored provider confirms. In the coming years, the use of Huawei equipment will in any case be phased out, also in the core of the network. The use of Huawei equipment has already been banned in several other countries such as the United Kingdom and Sweden.
