Foxconn: the supplier’s employees are massively poached by the competition
Faced with temporary factory closures in China, Apple has decided to open new fronts for its supply chain. Foxconn has set up new production units in Vietnam in record time, but unfortunately, the main assembler of Apple products has to face very aggressive competition. No sooner have the new Foxconn employees been trained on this new Vietnamese site… than they are already poached by other Chinese companies necessarily interested in this skilled labor (and which therefore no longer costs anything in training). It should be noted that Foxconn employs no less than 60,000 employees on site, a figure that should increase significantly over the next few years.
Young Liu, the president of HonHai (parent company of Foxconn) thus specifies that these predatory companies of personnel go until installing antennas (for the hiring) very close to the campuses of Foxconn Vietnam. We note that the boss of HonHai says nothing about the direct consequences of this drain on human resources. This silence seems rather to indicate that the impact on the production of iPhone will undoubtedly remain marginal.
