8x genius summer hacks that will make you happy as a parent
As a parent you have to think about so many things. Whether you stay at home or go on vacation. Fortunately, these summer hacks will make your life a little easier.
- Window stickers
There’s more in life than tablets. Moreover, Peppa Pig will get bored of its own accord during such a long car ride. Fortunately, window stickers are a fantastic hack to keep them busy during a (long) flight or long car ride. Farm animals, vehicles, Miffy, Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol? Window stickers really come in all shapes or sizes. Stick it!
- A fitted sheet on the beach
Okay, let’s be honest: it sounds a bit crazy at first, but it’s actually genius. Especially with a baby or toddler. You actually create a kind of sand-free box. Then your child can crawl around without eating all the sand. Who knows, you might even get some relaxation.
- Your valuables in a diaper
Are you on the beach and want to grab a quick ice cream with the kids? Or just walk to the sea? Then you always have those valuables again. We’ve come up with something for that: keep your cards, your phone, money and keys in a diaper. Grab a clean diaper, put your valuables in it, then close it like it’s a dirty diaper. Because who brings a dirty diaper?!
- Reusable water balloons
Water balloons are super fun, but not so good for the environment. And it is also a crime to pick up all those broken balloons from the street. Fortunately, nowadays you also have refillable water balloons. These water balloons have a magnetic closure and you can easily fill them by holding them in the water. No more junk and a lot better for the environment. With these water balloons you can have a water fight all summer long.
- Eating ice cream without spilling
No summer without ice cream. Certainly not for children, because they prefer to whine about it all day long. But before you know it everything is one big sticky mess. Cupcake molds prevent everything from getting dirty. Make a small hole in the center of the mold and insert the stick of the ice cream. Now you have a container into which all the melting ice falls. That’s handy!
- Tattoos with your data
Losing your child is every parent’s nightmare. But sometimes it can happen that they are suddenly nowhere to be seen. You can write on their arm with a marker or put on a necklace/bracelet, but there are also stick-on tattoos where you can put your child’s name and phone number. These tattoos are water, sunburn and sand proof. Also handy for a day at the theme park. The tattoos will remain in place for at least three days.
- Water fun
Water fun is also really part of the summer. Don’t have a water sprinkler nearby and still want to entertain the kids? That can be very simple: just with a plastic bottle and the garden hose. Poke some holes in the bottle and tape it to a garden hose. So the kids are sweet again.
- Insect free drinks
Again those cupcake tins, but they are so handy. Make a hole in them, put a straw through them and place them upside down on top of a glass. This prevents wasps, flies and other insects from falling into your child’s drink.
9. Sunscreen with a makeup brush
Does your child also hate sunscreen? Then use a make-up brush to spread it out. Children often find this much more fun and you can also make a game out of it. Make a pattern or put dots and let your child smear it with the brush.
All summer hacks noted? This way you can enjoy the summer holidays carefree.
