7 announcements to look forward to

There will probably not be an Apple event in March, but several products are still planned. We have listed our expectations for March.

Will there be an Apple March event in 2021?

The rumors about a ‘spring event’ from Apple are quite contradictory. On the one hand, it is said that Apple is about to announce a digital event, but at the same time other sources state that there will be no event. But even without a presentation in which Tim Cook wishes us a ‘good morning’, Apple can announce products with a press release. Based on rumors, we expect the following.

IOS 14.5

iOS 14.5 has gradually grown into a major interim update for the iPhone. After a number of test versions, we assume that the update will be released in the course of March for all iPhones that also support iOS 14.

2. AirPods 3

The popular AirPods are in their third edition. After a minor upgrade two years ago, it is now time for a big leap forward. Leaked photos and rumors reveal a new design for the AirPods, most reminiscent of the AirPods Pro.

3. AirPods Pro 2

Of course, if the regular AirPods get an upgrade, the AirPods Pro can’t lag behind. The AirPods Pro would also get a new design, without the characteristic stems. With the custom fit, these AirPods fit even better in your ears and noise cancellation would be further improved. Apple will also undoubtedly improve the sound quality and hopefully do something about the battery life.

IPad 2021

Spring is always the time of year when Apple releases new iPads. That will probably be no different this year. The iPad 2021 is still Apple’s cheapest entry-level model, but as a result the tablet has an outdated design.

Apple would make the screen edges narrower this year and the tablet itself slightly thinner, but a modern design such as the iPad Air 2020 or iPad Pro is not yet available. That does not alter the fact that this seems to be another excellent tablet for students and regular users.

IPad mini 2021

According to a rumor, the next iPad mini would appear in March. The device would get an 8.4 inch screen, which is a lot bigger than the 7.9 inch of its predecessor. Apple would achieve this by considerably shortening the screen edges of the iPad mini 2021. As a result, the iPad simply remains ‘mini’ as far as the housing is concerned. The device also has a Touch ID home button again instead of Face ID. That should keep it affordable – just like the iPad 2021.

IPad Pro 2021

There have been rumors for months about the new iPad Pro, which would first be released at the end of 2020, but now seems to have been pushed to the first half of 2021. Apple would equip the iPad Pro 2021 with a mini LED display, a new screen type . The company would see mini-LED as the successor to OLED, because it is cheaper to produce and enables better color rendering. It is not yet clear what other improvements this new iPad Pro will receive.

7. AirTags

We hardly dare to include them in our articles with expectations: the AirTags. For months it seems that Apple’s bluetooth trackers are about to be unveiled, but it still doesn’t happen. They are now present in the code of iOS 14 and we have already written countless rumors about them.

Yet the revelation seems to be imminent again. If Apple takes the online Apple Store offline, the AirTags could be added just like that, along with the AirPods and iPads.
