5 year old phone gets new software update
The five-year-old Samsung Galaxy S8 has had a software update. That is news, because the device is no less than five years old and most phones can no longer count on these kinds of updates. Plus, Samsung had removed the devices from its list of phones that will receive a software update.
Update G95xFXXUCDUK1
Samsung already came up with an update for the smartphones Galaxy S8 and S8+ in September, but it is not finished yet. There is now another software update for the smartphones. The firmware update: G95xFXXUCDUK1, is now out in France and is now coming to more and more countries. It also contains a security patch that combats all kinds of vulnerabilities.
The Galaxy S8 and S8+ were released in 2017 and the fact that they were equipped with an Android version at the time that was still called sweet, that says how long ago that was. We no longer use Android variants that have the names of goodies for a long time now. These smartphones appeared at the time with Android 7.0 Nougat, but then also received Android 8.0 and Android 9 One UI.
Samsung Galaxy S8
We were very enthusiastic when these devices appeared: “The Samsung Galaxy S8 is the new king of Android. The device performs very well on most fronts and surpasses the competition. The design is appealing and the thin bezels provide a pleasant grip and make these devices with relatively large screens handy. The 18.5:9 aspect ratio also causes fewer problems than expected and the brightness and colors of the Super AMOLED screen are as expected. So nothing to complain about yet.”
If you want to know whether your smartphone is ready for the update, go to Settings > Software update and then ‘Download and install’. It may not be there yet, so please try again later.
