Four new features are being rolled out to the Android Auto application. First of all, there is the new feature called ‘GameSnacks’. These are games you can play while standing still. Ideal for example in traffic jams. It should also serve as a discouragement to grab the smartphone anyway. In the United States, you can also pay by voice at some gas stations. All you have to do is call the command ‘Pay for gas’, the pump number will be requested and the transaction can be loaded into Google Pay.

New features have also been announced for Waze. It’s getting a facelift to create what it claims is a more streamlined navigation experience. There is support for a touchpad, a night mode and support for lane guidance. It also places the map and route description in the foreground, without disturbing other elements.

The last two improvements can be found in the form of work profiles. This feature also appeared before, but is now being rolled out. This way you can quickly find the apps that belong to your work, without your private apps being listed here. Handy to have everything in one overview. Furthermore, Android Auto can now be used in combination with dual SIM. For example, when you make a call, you can indicate which SIM card should be used to make the call.

The update for Android Auto is rolling out from now on. It may take a while until it is available to everyone.
