5 handy tips for the Google News app. Do you know everyone?
Important introduction: You have chosen to open this article because you are awaiting advice for the Google News app or Google News app? If it is clear to you now what we are coming across, you can proceed to the tips immediately. For the others, we remind you that these two terms do not mean the same thing. There is a catch hidden in the labels, which is caused by an unfortunate translation from English into Czech. While “Google News” is a tool for displaying news articles, a Google application commonly known as “News” is used to sending SMS, MMS or also for chatting. Is that clear yet? So let’s go to the advice…
5 tips for the Google News app
1) Save recipients / senders directly to contacts
If you are communicating in the Messages with someone you do not currently have in your regular telephone contact list, you can save the person (s) in question very quickly for three touches with the display. All you have to do is hold your finger on the selected row in the conversation overview, tap on the three dots in the newly offered menu and select the Add contact option. And it is done.
2) Schedule the message to be sent
“Happy Birthday”, “Merry Christmas” or “We’re leaving in a week!”. These are the types of messages that you can easily schedule in advance in the application so that you do not forget to send them by chance. Just hold your finger on the arrow to send and either choose from preset time options or any date from the calendar.
3) Get good old confirmations
Even though the era of massive texting has long since passed away and given way to more modern formats, classic messages are still sent by many people via the operator. If you are one of them and you were used to checking after sending the message that the recipient had received the message, this is for you here. Just open the menu, expand Advanced Settings and turn on the Receive SMS Delivery Receipts option.
4) Turn on the bubbles
Do you want Messages on your mobile phone to use notification wheels on the edge of the display for which Messenger is famous? Just go to the menu (three dots to the right of the search box), open the Bubbles menu and turn them on for all or just selected messages. But beware, this setting will change the system’s response to all messengers.
5) View previews of sites from the link
When someone sends you a link to a web page via Messages, you will usually only see the text URL. Of course, you have the opportunity to get to know something from its format, but wouldn’t it be nice for previews of the given website to be shown directly in the conversation? To turn this option on, for example, click in the top search box of the application, go to the right of the Links tile, and click it to enable the feature. It can also be done in settings.
