Huawei FreeBuds 4 – €149.99
The newest of all alternatives. Introduced this week and therefore fresh off the press, the Huawei FreeBuds 4. The earphones are equipped with a double microphone for noise reduction and last up to 22 hours on a full battery with the charging case. It has been possible to place a pre-order since 2 June. The Huawei FreeBuds 4 has a suggested retail price of € 149.99.
OnePlus Buds Z – € 59,-
A lot more affordable, but a similar design to the AirPods are the OnePlus Buds Z. They are a good alternative within the price point. However, if you are looking for comparable audio quality and high wearing comfort, then it is better to look for something else. The OnePlus Buds Z are an excellent affordable alternative to the Apple AirPods.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro – €138
Active noise suppression, 2-way speakers for a nice sound and IPX7 Water resistant if you ever end up in a rain shower. The ears are available in black, purple or white. Those first two colors in particular are a nice alternative to Apple’s eternal white. They have their own design and thus do not resemble a copy of the AirPods. With active noise cancellation on, you have up to 18 hours of battery life.
Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay E8 (3rd Gen) – € 221,-
This one is in a slightly higher price segment. This makes it almost a competitor for the AirPods Pro, from a price point of view. The third generation Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay lasts up to 28 hours with occasional charging via the charging case. A cool aspect of the B&O earphones is that you can charge them wirelessly via a Qi charger. The BeoPlay is available in gray or black and is also supplied in a beautiful leather case. Exactly the kind of quality you would expect from B&O.
Jabra Evolve 65t – €204.75
In terms of design, these are a bit like those Bluetooth headsets from the past, but slightly smaller. They certainly don’t deserve the beauty prize. But in terms of quality, it is well done with the Jabra Evolve 65t. You have 15 hours of battery life, 4 microphone technology, access to Amazon Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant and good noise cancellation. There is a hefty price in return, just like with the Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay.
