5 functions to give the mini a dignified goodbye
The curtain seems to be falling for the iPhone mini. According to rumors, there will be no successor to the iPhone 13 mini, which will be released at the end of this year. Hopefully, Apple will give this device a good goodbye by bringing these five features to the iPhone 13 mini.

Hopefully the iPhone 13 mini will get these 5 features
The iPhone 12 mini is not a sales success. In fact, the device is no longer even produced. Apple will sell the remaining stock and then it will be ready for the small version of the iPhone 12.
According to rumors, Apple sees little bread in compact, but powerful phones. There would be a successor for the iPhone 12 mini in the pipeline, but then the curtain falls. In this article we therefore list our farewell wishes. Hopefully the iPhone 13 mini will get these features.
1. Bigger Battery
The biggest pain point of the iPhone 12 mini is the battery. With normal use, the small iPhone lasts a day, but intensive users have to recharge the device at the end of the afternoon or the beginning of the evening.
We therefore hope that the iPhone 13 mini will have a larger battery. Since the device is smaller than the ‘regular’ iPhone 13, it does not have to have an identical battery capacity, but it would be nice if the two devices crawl closer to each other than is the case with this generation.
2. Fingerprint scanner under the screen
We know for sure that Apple is thinking about bringing the fingerprint scanner back to the iPhone. Since the iPhone 8, which came out in 2017, new Apple phones no longer have a Touch ID scanner, with the exception of the 2020 iPhone SE.
This is a shame, because a fingerprint scanner is, in our opinion, one of the nicest ways to unlock a phone. You simply place your finger on a part of the screen to unlock your phone.
We therefore hope that Apple will be able to bring this technology to the iPhone 13 (mini). Since competing smartphones with Android have had fingerprint scanners under the screen for years, Apple should succeed this year, right?
3. Smaller Notch, Smooth Screen
Apple is also lagging behind in terms of notch. The screen notch, which includes the selfie camera and the sensors for face unlock, has remained virtually unchanged since the iPhone X (from 2017). This design was acceptable a few years ago, but now the large screen notch of the iPhone stands out – in a negative sense.
That’s why we hope that the iPhone 13 mini gets a considerably smaller notch. This gives you more screen space and the notch is less disturbing. Once again, Apple can look to Android competitors for this, where the notches have become considerably narrower and smaller in the past year.
4. More Storage
If you get the cheapest iPhone 12 mini, you get a phone with only 64GB of internal storage capacity. If you like to download music in advance or make Netflix movies available offline, this capacity is so full.
It would therefore grace Apple to bring the entry level to 128GB. With twice the capacity, you are less likely to run into storage problems and you can store music, movies, games and other media more comfortably.
We are also very hopeful that Apple will fulfill this wish. In 2020, Apple already increased the storage capacity of the Pro devices. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max have at least 128GB onboard storage, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max still have to make do with only 64GB.
5. Lower price tag
Finally, we hope that Apple will give the iPhone 13 mini a lower price tag. Its predecessor cost 809 euros on outcome, just as much as the iPhone 11 cost in 2019. The 12 mini was therefore the cheapest iPhone 12, but still quite expensive.
Apple justified this relatively high price tag on the basis of all the improvements – an OLED screen instead of LCD, the addition of 5G and, for example, the comeback of MagSafe.
We are now a year further and the developments in the telecom industry continued unabated. 5G has now really become commonplace and the production of OLED screens also seems to run smoothly. Let’s hope Apple passes these purchasing advantages into the price tag.
