4 features of the iPhone 14 Pro that we already wanted on the 13 Pro
On September 7, the new iPhone 14 Pro will be announced and you can expect a lot of new features. We would have liked to see many of these on the iPhone 13 Pro. But patience is a virtue. The long wait is finally rewarded!
1. Design
To start with, the design of the Pro models has been adjusted. For the first time since 2017, Apple’s Pro models don’t have a notch at the top of the screen. Instead, there are two cutouts in the screen. On the left a pill-shaped cutout containing the selfie camera. In addition, a dot projector, which is required for Face ID. Apple initially planned to process Face ID under the screen, but the technology is not ready for that yet.
With the cheaper iPhone 14 (Max), Apple has hardly changed the design. There you will simply find the familiar notch as the predecessor has.

2. More Megapixel Camera
For years, Apple has stuck to 12-megapixel cameras. And while higher is not necessarily better, you can expect a main camera with a whopping 48 megapixels with the iPhone 14 Pro. In good lighting conditions, this is certainly an improvement. Your photos will then contain a lot more details.
The disadvantage of so many megapixels is that the pixels are smaller. And that leads to photos looking worse in the dark. That’s why Apple now uses pixel binning. Four pixels are software combined into one superpixel, which keeps the performance in low light at the same level.
3. Always On Display
We assume that the iPhone 14 Pro will have an Always-on display. This feature allows your iPhone to display certain information on the screen while in sleep mode, without consuming much battery. There are instructions for this in iOS 16. It is a technique that we have seen in the Apple Watch since the Apple Watch Series 5. You can then always see the watch face, without the watch using a lot of energy. As far as we are concerned, it is also a useful feature for the iPhone 14 Pro.
4. Case material and color
Something we’ve also seen with the Apple Watch for a long time, but not yet with the iPhone, is a titanium housing. It is not yet clear whether that will change with the arrival of the iPhone 14 Pro, but there are some rumors that indicate this. As with the iPhone 13 Pro, we’d love to see that, but honestly, we have our doubts…
