The app raised no less than 10 million dollars in a fundraising round and that is partly because the idea behind it is very clever. HER

HER is not so interesting for people who identify as men, because as the name suggests, it concerns women or people who identify themselves as such. It’s less of a Tinder hunt, though one may be only interested in a one-night stand, while the other is looking for a partner for life. What’s important with HER is that everyone can be themselves and that’s why you see less filters and less glamour, which makes it a refreshing dating app next to all those well-known, big apps.

Fruitz is also refreshing, but in a different way. Fruitz is similar to Tinder, but it’s more about expectations. You can indicate whether you are just looking for a friend with benefits or whether you just want to be with someone for a night, or whether you are looking for a romantic relationship. That makes a difference, because you don’t see people passing by that you like, but who are not looking for the same thing as you at all. This turns out to be a big plus, especially for women, because they seem to find it more difficult to be loud and clear about their wishes. The app is therefore called Fruitz because those preferences are related to fruits: a cherry means you are really looking for your other half, the grape is still looking for what it wants (but no one-night stands), the watermelon wants a f * ck buddy and the peach looking for someone to enjoy for one night. Bloom

Bloom is an app that does not do one-night stands at all, or at least: it is not intended for that. What bothered the makers of this app was that apps that focus on dates and quick love are often very beautiful and work like a train, while apps for people looking for relationships are very rickety. Tadaa, here’s Bloom, the dating app that does have a nice look and feel. For example, in Bloom you can send voice messages (in addition to text messages), although it is not unique. It is unique in the fact that you only get to see a small number of people per day. This way it won’t be some kind of swipe fest.
