2 ways to use WhatsApp anonymously

Valentine’s Day is a day when romantics declare their love to that wonderful man or woman they have long been eyeing. Those who like the mysterious approach can also declare love anonymously, and that is even possible with the help of WhatsApp. We explain how you can do that in two possible ways.

How can you send anonymous messages with WhatsApp? Let’s break that bubble right away and tell them it’s not possible. If you appt, the other person will always see the recipient’s phone number and in theory that can always lead to you. This is also consciously provided for in the messaging app for security reasons, just like your telephone number registered with your provider always leads to you.

Fortunately, we’re not done with that right away, because nothing will stop you from texting someone else without using your number. These are three methods with which you can reach your crush on WhatsApp without showing your own phone number.

1. Get a prepaid SIM card

Do you want to declare your love to a person who already has your personal phone number? In that case, you can easily get a prepaid SIM card from a provider to use it for WhatsApp. We explain how you can do that:

1. Delete WhatsApp on your phone
2. Reinstall the app
3. Insert your prepaid SIM card into your phone
4. Register WhatsApp with the prepaid phone number and use the verification code in the message you receive
5. If you don’t have a dual SIM, you can exchange the prepaid card for your regular SIM card afterwards. WhatsApp will continue to work and you can then send your declaration of love.
6. Do you want to use your regular WhatsApp account again? Then remove the app and install it again to register your regular phone number again. At that point, your prepaid account will no longer be active.

Does the conversation on the prepaid account last a little longer than that one message with your declaration of love? Very well. In that case you can use an old telephone in combination with the prepaid SIM card. You can use your regular phone number and WhatsApp account on your current phone at the same time. 2. A virtual phone number

The Phoner app offers an additional way to use WhatsApp via a different phone number. You can rent a virtual phone number in this app that you can use for at least a month. That will cost you about 20 euros. You must then – just like with a provider – register your personal data, including your address.

Once you have the virtual phone number, you can use it to create a WhatsApp account. You can use that other account on an old phone if you want to remain reachable on WhatsApp with your normal account.

Phoner also offers the option of using a so-called ‘Free Number’ for one day. You can send a text message to your crush with that number and you can also receive messages back. Phoner does use a different phone number every time you send a message and you never get to see that number. So you cannot use it to register a WhatsApp account.
