1-2-3 Refueling app gives current fuel prices from gas stations Germany

Are you going to Germany for a weekend, is your holiday planned to the Eastern neighbors or do you live close to the German border? Then it can certainly pay to refuel in Germany. The petrol prices at the gas stations there are much lower. There is also a very handy app for that: 1-2-3 Refueling.

1-2-3 Refueling: fuel prices Germany

Compared to neighboring countries, fuel prices in the Netherlands are high. A visit to our southern or eastern neighbors can in some cases make a big difference to your wallet. The 1-2-3 Tanken app can come in handy during a holiday to Germany, or just for a day out. It doesn’t matter whether you go to Berlin, or rather cross the border to shop cheaply at the Rossmann.

I am a real Dutchman and if you can save a few cents per litre, why not? The app 1-2-3 Tanken has helped me a lot with this and shows that there can sometimes be significant price differences between the different gas stations in Germany. Incidentally, it is good to know that diesel and petrol prices in Germany can differ every hour and that refueling during peak hours is usually more expensive.

E10, E5 or Diesel?

The 1-2-3 Tanken app gives you this information in an interesting way. You can search near your current location as well as search manually. You will then see the current liter price with the logo of the petrol station on the map. In the app you can indicate which prices should be shown on the map; Super E5, Super E10 or Diesel.

A handy feature of the German fuel app is that you can add it directly to favorites at a gas station, which then appear in a separate menu so that you immediately have the current prices at hand. 1-2-3 Tanken also provides insight into the opening hours and you can see when the prices were last updated. There is also the option to navigate directly to the gas station via navigation apps such as Google Maps.

Through an in-app purchase, 1-2-3 Tanken Plus (€0.99 for 1 month, €2.99 for 6 months and €4.99 for 1 year) you get access to the price history statistics, ads are removed , you get to see the cheapest gas stations along your route and you get more notification options.

Price change notifications

You can set free notifications for one gas station in the 1-2-3 Tanken app. You will then receive a notification as soon as the price of E5, E10 or diesel drops. You can also indicate under ‘Custom’ that you only want to receive a notification if the price per liter falls below a chosen amount. Receiving notifications for multiple gas stations requires the same in-app purchase, as previously reported.
