You can secure the GHG bonus for these two-wheelers
Thanks to the GHG quota, owners of an e-car can have hundreds of euros paid out every year. In this way, you can make a decent amount of money over the long term. But this option is not only open to e-car drivers. You can also cash in on some two-wheelers with electric drives.
GHG bonus for fast e-bikes: How to get the bonus
Anyone who is still waiting for the environmental bonus can manage differently as an e-car driver. Since the beginning of the year, private individuals have also been able to sell the greenhouse gas emissions that you save by driving with electricity to the large oil companies. This GHG premium or GHG quota is usually several hundred euros, depending on the provider – and you can use it bag again every year.
Who now thinks: “Save emissions? That’s not only possible with an e-car!” is not wrong. This option is also open to you for e-scooters that offer a top speed of more than 45 km/h. Like the experts at Edison Media report, but that’s not the end of it. Even for fast e-bikes, the so-called S-Pedelecs, should be able to apply for the GHG premium.
But you have to take a detour to do this: S-pedelecs up to a speed of 45 km/h and e-scooters that lock at 45 km/h are subject to compulsory insurance, but do not need approval for road traffic. It’s just stupid that you can’t apply for the GHG quota without proof of approval. The way out is “voluntary registration”, according to Edison Media.
Here you can see what you need to consider when buying an e-bike:
One would be needed for this insurance confirmation for the respective vehicle operating license and yours identity card. Owners of e-scooters or fast e-bikes already have these documents, so there are no additional costs. At most, an additional expert opinion may be required. However, you already have the usual costs for registration and license plates with a distribution of the GHG quota.
GHG quota 2022: Up to 400 euros are possible
According to Edison Media, you can register your S-Pedelec as a moped and, with proof, get your money back through the GHG quota. There are now a few providers on the market who collect the GHG quota for you. Your choice depends on how much money you get per year and whether you want a guaranteed but lower payout or can live with more or less money. Rates of up to 400 euros can be expected in 2022, and they are likely to rise further in the future.
