Even if you only use a NAS within your home network, it is wise to connect to it with https. This can be done via a so-called self-signed certificate, but these do have (increasingly) limitations. In this article, we’ll show you how to use a genuine Let’s Encrypt certificate for encryption. We set up a reverse proxy as a secure intermediary using two methods, which you can of course also use for other web services.
