Xiaomi is preparing a compact flagship. He may come later this year
The upcoming flagship series Xiaomi 12 will obviously bring one unexpected model. According to the latest leaks, the Chinese manufacturer is also working on a smaller premium smartphone, which so far appears under the name Xiaomi 12 Mini. The Notebookcheck portal informed about the news.
According to available information, it will not be one of the more compact smartphones on the market. However, the 6.3 ″ display makes it the company’s smallest flagship model. The Xiaomi 12 Mini is internally referred to as the “L3” and will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 870 processor. It has recently been confirmed that one of the Xiaomi 12 series models will have an FHD + display instead of a QHD + panel. And since it was clarified that it would not be the Xiaomi 12 Youth Edition, perhaps it was the Xiaomi 12 Mini.
It is said that another model with a very similar specification will be available, which will offer a 6.6 ″ display. There is even speculation about a collapsible smartphone in connection with these leaks. However, we will have to wait until the official performance for more precise information. This is expected to take place later this year.
The competition also offers compact smartphones
The demand for compact devices has been on the smartphone market for some time, which Apple caught last year. For the second year in a row, in addition to the classic flagship models, it also introduced one called “mini”.
However, we can also find compact flagships in the world of Androids, without the “mini” in the name. The basic model from the Samsung Galaxy S21 series cannot be considered completely compact, but with its 6.2 ″ display it will be about the same size as the mentioned Xiaomi 12 Mini. Only a 0.1 ″ smaller model can be found from Sony, specifically with the designation Xperia 5 III. However, the title of the smallest flagship Android smartphone currently belongs to the Asus Zenfone 8 model with a screen size of only 5.9 ″.
