Xiaomi is Europe’s largest smartphone brand

Xiaomi can look back with satisfaction on the second quarter of 2021. The Chinese manufacturer has knocked Samsung from the first place as the number 1 smartphone brand, according to new figures that have been released.

Xiaomi has taken the first place when it comes to the market leadership of smartphones in Europe. The Chinese manufacturer has taken the place for the first time since the second quarter of 2021, according to the research by Strategy Analytics. Interestingly, Counterpoint also seems to confirm this information in another study. That research shows that in June Xiaomi was the largest manufacturer worldwide.

Strategy Analytics reports that the market share of smartphones in Europe for Xiaomi now stands at 25.3 percent. This is an increase of 67.1 percent compared to last year. Samsung sees the share drop by 7.0 percent (compared to Q2 2020) to 24 percent. Apple is third (19.2%), followed by Oppo (5.6%, up 180 percent) and Realme (3.8 percent, up 1800 percent). The research shows that 14 percent more smartphones were sold than in the same period last year.
