will the iPhone 14 be released later than expected?

According to new rumors, at least one model of the iPhone 14 will be released later than Apple had planned. Read in this article whether and why the delivery date is at risk.

Read on after the ad.

iPhone 14 (Pro) (Max) delivery date at risk?

China is open and then closed again. This tug-of-war over corona lockdowns is affecting production of the iPhone 14. Now, new sources are reporting that at least one iPhone 14 model is three weeks behind schedule. Is the delivery date of this iPhone 14 at risk?

Apple is expected to release four new iPhone 14 models this year. Because the iPhone 13 mini didn’t sell very well, Apple is going to change tack. An iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display is reportedly coming. The regular iPhone 14 (Pro) ‘only’ has a 6.1-inch screen.

Unfortunately, it is not clear which of the above models has the production problems. We hope it’s not the iPhone 14 Pro Max. With the best (and largest) specifications, this smartphone is going to be Apple’s showpiece.

Apple’s response to the production issues

Apple has, according to the source, Nikkei Asia, asked the factories to accelerate the development of the iPhone 14. However, this could still result in (temporarily) less stock of the as yet undefined iPhone 14 model.

All four iPhone 14 models are currently in the so-called Engineering Verification Testphase (EVT). This examines how the product can be produced as effectively as possible on a large scale. The deadline for mass production should be late August/early September. Hopefully Apple can speed up the process and we, the consumers, won’t notice.

iPhone 14 more expensive

Unfortunately, the series of lockdowns in China is far from over. This situation could not only affect the delivery date of this unknown model of iPhone 14. It also hinders the development of new products. We’ll see in the coming months whether the iPhone 14 delivery date is actually compromised.
