Will Activision Blizzard really be Microsoft? The business is handled by the authorities
When it was announced a few days ago that the American technology giant Microsoft is buying the gaming colossus Activision Blizzard, not only in the gaming sphere, it caused a great stir. There would be very few similar acquisitions in the “computer” world. As many experts expected, to connect such giant and influential companies they will also want to enlighten some control authorities. And that’s what happens. The purchase is handled by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), of course, due to concerns about the creation of an unacceptable monopoly.
At the moment, it is only confirmed that the details of the deal are “on the table” and the assessment is just beginning, but it will probably not be just a banal process of tapping a regular stamp. Microsoft and the Commerce Commission have so far declined to comment on the situation in any way the public and, of course, competitors eagerly await what will happen next.
Recall that the acquisition, if passed, will cause for example significant loss of games from Activision Blizzard from a competitor ‘s PlayStation console. In this case, the inspection and subsequent decision may put Microsoft in a similar situation as Nvidia found itself after the purchase of Arm.
Do you think Microsoft will do business?
