Where has this year’s NHL wandered? -apkrig

Already during the broadcast of EA Play Live and subsequently in many streams and private news on social networks, you ask us, where is this year’s NHL hockey series? Although we are all used to the fact that hockey is not the most popular sport from the point of view of Electronic Arts and most of the attention is paid to the FIFA and Madden football series every year, we do not want to accept that someone in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is still very popular with us. someone will pick it up. When he has not been available on a PC for many years and does not receive the best care, the idea that the series would be affected by a break is not exactly pleasant. We have therefore decided to put together all the facts so as not to unnecessarily create misconceptions and misinformation, which also include us in good faith and bring you everything that has (not) fallen so far about NHL 22, when we could look forward to the revelation and finally the game itself. .

How it was last year

Let’s start by recalling last year’s situation, which was not standard, especially due to the coronavirus pandemic. Over the past few years, the NHL has been announced during the NHL Awards. Before the pandemic, the date of the last few years was always the end of June, and players learned to wait for the period after E3before they learned the first information. Last year, however, the NHL Awards did not take place until September, and the developers from EA Sports published the first details themselves on a blog at the end of July. At the time, they confirmed that NHL 21 would have no next-gen elements, that they would probably not arrive until October instead of the traditional September, and that players should not expect the first specific information until August. A similar situation is likely to occur this year.

What is already known about this year

Let’s move a year further, to this day, and move on to NHL 22. Officially, we don’t know anything about the game – the developers haven’t mentioned the game anywhere yet, and there may still be some doubts in the air as to whether the game is going for this year at all. However, it is rather unlikely that the NHL 22 would not work out and the series took a one-year break, given that the datamina were able to look for mentions of the beta version on the PS Store a few weeks ago. It is basically the only one semiofficial a message based on an entry from the database and bringing an official icon with the supposed NHL 22 logo. The beta version was available on the PS Store in the version for PlayStation 4 and was less than 28 GB in size. The operators of the PlayStation Game Size twitter account then responded to one of the fans confirmedthat there is also an alpha larger than 30 GB in the PlayStation 5 game database, which may indicate a native next-gen version, albeit without any confirmation of significant improvements, let alone a new engine or PC version.

An ideal and more realistic scenario

With no official information yet, we can speculate on how the situation around NHL 22 will turn out in the end. Ideally, the game boasts new features and maximum use of the hardware of the new consoles. Theoretically, it could also mean switching to a new engine – the NHL uses Ignite instead of Frostbit, which runs, for example, FIFA or Madden – but even with the most optimistic prospects, we would not count on a PC version. The reason is mainly based on the belief that EA Sports does not want to invest too much money in the game, which is on a downward trend, at least in terms of sales in the first week. According to older data from the VGChartz portal, it is generally believed that the NHL will not reach even a million players, which is really little compared to the FIFA or Madden series mentioned several times. After all, the NBA Live basketball series also paid for the lack of interest – although in this case it was greatly helped by the competition, and basketball is a more popular sport in the USA than hockey.

The destination for announcing the game can easily be the German Gamescom at the end of August.

We can realistically estimate that this year’s NHL will also run on the Ignite engine, receive only slightly improved ones on the new consoles, which on the other hand do not disqualify cross-gen players, and that they will arrive in October as last year. In the end, compared to the NHL 21, it is not yet significantly lost in terms of the first official information, and it is possible that the update on the state of development will arrive as unexpectedly as it was a year ago. Don’t forget that the first NHL 21 trailer was not released until August 24, so the destination for announcing the game can easily be German Gamescom.
