When will it end? Biden has signed further bans on ZTE and Huawei

US President Joe Biden has signed a new law banning Chinese companies from obtaining new hardware licenses. The Senate approved the law unanimously last month. Under the new law, the US Regulatory Authority (FCC) will deny any request from Huawei and ZTE. The Android Central portal covered the topic.

The new ban affects five Chinese companies, including giants such as Huawei and ZTE. These companies have now lost virtually any hope of obtaining licenses for new equipment in the future.

The new legislation literally prohibits the FCC from accepting or inspecting network equipment requests from these companies that allegedly pose a national security risk. The aim of the legislation is to ensure that network equipment from these companies is not used in the US telecommunications network.

New applications will no longer be approved by the regulatory authority

Since 2018, the US regulator has approved more than 3,000 applications from Huawei. Earlier this year, the FCC launched a program to help telecommunications companies that still use Huawei and ZTE hardware and solutions to remove them from the country’s infrastructure. This program is worth up to $ 1.6 billion.

We remind you that Huawei and HTC are among the world’s top and largest providers in telecommunications solutions. This includes 5G technology, which is currently being deployed worldwide.
