WhatsApp rolls out comments with emoji; also larger groups and files
WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature in the app tonight. From now on it is possible to send comments in WhatsApp. This makes it possible, for example, to ‘like’ a message from someone. We explain how it works.
WhatsApp comments
The messages about comments in WhatsApp have been around for a long time, but now the time has come. In recent hours, WhatsApp has started rolling out the option to leave a comment widely. This way you don’t necessarily have to respond to someone through a text message or emoji, but you can just choose a response.
How exactly does it work? The operation of WhatsApp responses is actually very simple. Press and hold a chat and you will immediately see the different emoticons that you can choose for your response. This includes, for example, the heart, thumbs up, laughing, stunned and sad. In total there are six emojis that you can choose. For the time being, it is not possible to choose the emoticons yourself and the order cannot be adjusted, something that is possible with Telegram. When someone leaves a comment under your message, you will receive a notification, like with a new message.
Other New Features
Two other new features have also been added. Where until now a maximum of 256 people could be part of a WhatsApp group, that number has now been increased to 512, so a doubling. We see another improvement in file sharing. Where this limit was previously at 100MB, it is now 2GB. This means that you can finally share larger files with others via WhatsApp as well.
The innovations for WhatsApp will now be widely rolled out. It is possible that some functions will only be activated for everyone in the near future.
