Westworld is cancelled, there will be no season 5
Bad news for fans of WestworldHBO has decided to cancel the series and will therefore not offer a season 5. Season 4, which ended in August, therefore completes the series.
It’s the end for Westworld
Westworld debuted in 2016 and quickly became a hit, enticing audiences with its multi-layered mysteries and mix of futuristic and Wild West settings. The series maintained its popularity until season 2, but fell sharply in the third season after leaving behind the Westworld portion of its android-filled theme park. Finally, the fourth season of the series had even more difficulty in breaking through to the public.
Last month, co-creator Jonathan Nolan said in an interview that he hoped HBO would give the show a fifth season to wrap up the show’s story, which chronicled a game-changing robot uprising. the fate of mankind. “We have always planned a fifth and final season”said Jonathan Nolan. “We are still in conversation with the chain. We really hope to do them”. Co-creator Lisa Joy similarly stated that the series has always worked towards a specific ending: “Jonah and I have always had an end in mind that we hope to achieve. We haven’t quite reached it yet.”
HBO does not say this publicly, but the fact that Westworld is canceled and that there will be no season 5 is probably explained by the hearings. These kept dropping. The same goes for the opinions of the public, which again were less positive than those of the first seasons.
Here is what declared HBO:
Over the past four seasons, Lisa and Jonah have taken viewers on a breathtaking odyssey, raising the bar with every step. We are extremely grateful to them, their immensely talented cast, producers and crew members, and to all of our partners at Kilter Films, Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television. It was a pleasure to accompany them in this adventure.
