The developers from the Warhorse studio are collaborating with the Brno-based board game manufacturer on the official game from the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Boardcubator will take players back to the Czech Kingdom, but during the Hussite wars and specifically in 1421. A similarly tense story awaits them, which the hero of the video game Jindřich went through, with the difference that the game is intended as a single player and cooperation for up to four players. . One finish should take about 2.5 hours and Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game – as the board is officially called – will not rely solely on a paper plan and the usual propriety.
As the authors from Boardcubator point out, an integral part of the board will also be a mobile application, through which players will be able to listen to story dialogues with professional dubbing and also listen to an adaptive soundtrack to evoke the right medieval atmosphere. The application will also be a source of all the accompanying information and will become a kind of guide for the whole adventure. The authors of the board game also count on a sophisticated system of development of individual characters, as if you were playing a traditional video game RPG. You will have to improve individual characters, redistribute attributes and, most importantly, the ubiquitous dice roll if you want to move on. In this regard, the official board game would not have to penalize players for creativity, and the authors suggest that you will be able to try anything, regardless of whether or not your character has talents for a particular activity.
What you do in the game should be the most important thing, but it would not be possible without a living world that will be able to react to the player’s actions and decisions. Here, too, the authors of the board describe that you will be able to do anything – talk to other characters, fight them, walk around them quietly in the shadows, try to fight your way from the besieged Sázava Monastery and especially try to survive the growing tension between the Crusaders and Hussites. The developers are still hiding what exactly will be the task of the individual scenarios, but there is still some time left until the release of the game.
Even before the official board game Kingdom Come: Deliverance is due to reach store shelves in 2023, a crowdfunding campaign awaits it on the Gamefound portal, where a mock-up is already ready. However, you will not learn anything extra on the pages of this portal until next year, so you have to wait for further details, including information about the location. So far, it does not seem that a language other than English is expected, which, of course, may change.
