Watch the launch of NASA’s mega rocket live
Today is the day, we’re going to the moon again! Quickly watch the launch of NASA’s rocket live.
An important moment in human history. Especially when mankind had never been on the moon. Now we go again and that is also a thing. This afternoon at 2.30 pm Dutch time the colossus has to go up in the air.
NASA’s rocket launch
The live stream on YouTube has already been opened and you can already see great images of the rocket there. During a launch, all kinds of problems can still occur. From a leaking tank to bad weather. It is therefore never certain whether the launch will take place. This makes it even more exciting.
The rocket is called the Artemis I and is currently fully fueled. This took hours, because it does use some fuel. The rocket will do the preparatory work for Artemis II and III. In the latter, astronauts will actually go on the moon. A piece of history will be written there, because this will be the first time that a black person is on the moon. And a woman!
Crucial
Today’s launch is important for the next launches. If it doesn’t work, everything will be delayed. That’s quite sour, because the entire project has cost NASA about $93 billion so far. The capsule contained in the rocket will be launched into the orbit of the moon. Here it will take pictures, in preparation for future flights. So much is at stake.
Watching is simple, just go to YouTube (or click below). It’s quite a happening, because big stars will also pass. Think of Jack Black and Chris Evans. Lots of fun.
UPDATE. It looks like the launch can’t go ahead. There is a problem with one of the four engines. NASA cannot get it to the desired temperature. The next launch date is this Friday.
