Want to become king and cafe owner at the same time? It’s possible
A vacancy has become available. You can now become king and café owner, the ideal job or is there a catch?
No, the vacancy does not concern the job of King of the Netherlands. Although Willem-Alexander probably likes to go to a bar, he is not a bar owner as far as we know. You can become king of an island off the British coast. You have to like peace and quiet, because there is very little to do.
King and cafe owner
This concerns Piel Island. A dot on the map just off the British west coast. There is (of course) a castle on it, a few houses for the eight nationals who live there and a cafe. The castle is currently empty and the beers don’t pour themselves. So a vacancy has become available for both a king and a bartender.
Don’t think this is easy. The job description describes some ‘problems’. But hey, problems are there to be overcome. That’s how a real king should think. For example, if you want to go to a store, you have to take the ferry to the mainland. The problem with this is that it sails from April to September. So stock up. What is also difficult is the electricity. The supply of this is far from stable.
Coronation
If you don’t like beer, look for another position. At the inauguration, a bucket of beer is thrown over your head.
After this you are the new ‘King of Piel’. Well what more could you want? Maybe some nature. It certainly is, because there are seals and different kinds of birds. You are also guaranteed a job for ten years. You sign for that.
