VW subsidiary puts together an all-round carefree package for e-car fans
Skoda does not take its realignment lightly: the VW brand wants to launch 6 new electric cars by 2026. A closer look shows that not everything is new. Nevertheless, the car manufacturer completes its offer – and fills in exactly the right gaps.
Skoda launches e-car range: These models should convince by 2026
Skoda is currently announcing six new electric cars by 2026, not without pride. However, only four of them are really new. Because the previous figureheads from the Enyaq series – the Skoda Enyaq iV and the coupe version Skoda Enyaq RS iV – are to be refreshed in 2025.
But a real novelty awaits us the year before: Skoda is planning one fully electric Compact SUV and immediately revealed the name: Der Elroq is to be the electric successor to the Karoq. But since it was only refreshed for this year, both will probably continue to exist in parallel for a while.
Skoda specifies a length of around 4.5 m for the Elroq. That would be a little longer than the combustion engine predecessor and, together with the long wheelbase typical of e-cars, should be decent space inside care for. Skoda wants to officially present the car in 2024, but there is no date for the market launch yet.
Volksstromer from Skoda: Mini-SUV based on VW
Skoda’s most affordable electric car is also scheduled for the same year as the Enyaq updates. The Czechs are planning a 4.1 m long one under the keyword “Small”. SUV style Stromer, Price tag: around 25,000 euros. The previous reporting and also the silhouette indicate that the Skoda version of the ID.2 is behind it:
While VW now has one with the ID.2all more usual aesthetics pursued, but the plans for an ID.2 X should already indicate Skoda’s mini-SUV. The small electric Skoda should celebrate its premiere in 2025 (source: Skoda).
With the ID.2, VW has given a first glimpse of the group’s more affordable models:
In 2026 the Octavia will be electric
In 2026 it will be time for two real newcomers. Skoda has already looked at one of them quite extensively: Under the keyword “Space”, Skoda is planning a series version of the Vision 7S concept car – a seven-seater SUV. With the concept, Skoda presented its new design language. Accordingly, the Vision 7S also resonates with the other models to a certain extent. The Massive SUV to be Skoda’s new flagship.
Far more important, however, is what is hidden behind the keyword “Combi”. Skoda writes about one Reinvention of the bestseller. This makes it clear what is at stake: Skoda will be in 2026 Introduce the electric Octavia in station wagon form. E-car and Skoda fans should be equally excited about this model.
