Virgin Galactic is selling space tickets again … at $ 450,000 a seat!
Building on the much-publicized space flight of its founder Richard branson, Virgin galactic has once again opened reservations for seats on board the SpaceShipTwo. The price of the seat is $ 450,000 (minimum), which is still very expensive for the “eco” class. It should also be noted that this rate is approximately twice as high as the 200,000 dollars advanced by Virgin Galactic at the very start of the project.
Despite these rather elitist financial criteria, Michael colglazier, executive director of Virgin Galactic, clarified that more than 600 people had already signed up on a waiting list, and that another 1,000 more are expected to reserve their (distant) place soon by paying a deposit of 1,000 dollars.
Virgin Galactic’s next commercial flight will take place next September. The Unity 23 mission will include 3 pilots from the Italian Air Force. The war with Blue Origin has only just begun …
