Universal Control has been postponed until spring 2022
With Universal Control from macOS Monterey and iPadOS 15, your iPad and Mac work even better together, but unfortunately the feature has been deferred. Apple indicates that you have to be patient until the spring of 2022.

Universal Control postponed: just a little longer
Its a shame, but there is nothing to do about it. One of the coolest features (in our opinion) of macOS Monterey and iPadOS 15 takes a little longer. Apple says the feature won’t be available until spring 2022.
Originally, Universal Control should be available around this time, but that has now changed. The recently released macOS Monterey 12.1 included SharePlay, but lacked any trace of Universal Control.

With SharePlay, users can, among other things, watch a movie or listen to music together, without being in the same room together. The feature has been available on iPhone and iPad for a while, but now Mac users can enjoy this cool feature too.
What is Universal Control and what’s in it for you?
With Universal Control, you can use a Mac’s keyboard and trackpad to control both your Mac and an iPad. Of course, it’s been possible to use an iPad as a second screen for your Mac with the SideCar function for some time, but with Universal Control it gets even better (and easier).
You don’t need to set anything up for this: placing an iPad close to a MacBook or iMac is enough. The function uses bluetooth and the Handoff function for this.
Drag and drop files
The handy thing about Universal Control is that you can also click a file on one device and release it on another. For example, it’s super easy to transfer a photo from your Mac to your iPad by dragging it from one screen to another.

Universal Control is quite a handy feature, right? Fortunately, this feature will arrive in the spring of 2022. Now all we can do is hope Universal Control isn’t delayed again.
