Under these conditions, you should turn off the switch

Almost nobody turns off their Nintendo Switch completely. Normally, the handheld console is put into stand-by mode after a gaming session – that’s much more convenient. However, Nintendo released a warning explaining when you should definitely shut down your switch completely.

Even though the switch is now almost 6 years old, Nintendo insists on providing users of the hybrid console with a few tips and tricks at regular intervals. These could sometimes extend the life of the battery or protect the console from a defect.

Recently, Nintendo’s Japanese Twitter account posted another note for players to take to heart:

In the tweet, Nintendo points out that that all players should turn off the Switch when condensation forms on the console. This can happen, for example, if the temperature in the room in which the switch is used changes suddenly. After turning off the switch, players should place the console in a warm room and wait for the water drops to dry. Only then can the console be safely put into operation again.

The explanation is obvious: Nintendo wants to point this out prevent a potential short circuitwhich could potentially permanently damage the console.
