Ukraine: A Telegram “war bot” to list Russian troops
The war in Ukraine is also being played out on the terrain of the Internet and social networks. We had recently seen how the largest country in Europe communicates brilliantly on the Internet, but Ukraine also wants to use the population there to repel the Russian forces.
The Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) has therefore launched a Telegram bot allowing any citizen to enter the geographical position of the enemy to coordinate the Ukrainian armed forces.

War 2.0
Just scan the QR code to launch the bot. Here is the message that greets Ukrainians:
“Welcome! By clicking on the *New Message* button, you have the opportunity to help our army by adding information about the occupier’s location, movement, volume of military equipment and personnel to the bot! ️
Be sure to indicate the geographic coordinates of the enemy’s location! This information will be immediately forwarded to the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The intelligence you provide will be used to strike the enemy.
By pressing the *Cyber Front* button, you have the opportunity to provide information that will be used to carry out cyberattacks on the occupier’s infrastructure.
Share a MAXIMUM! Victory be ours! »
The most famous thing about it is that Telegram is the work of Pavel Dourov, a Russian who set sail for a long time for fear of swallowing his tea askew.
A double-edged weapon…
On the other hand, we ask ourselves a down-to-earth question regarding this initiative: counter-information. Who is stopping the Russians from communicating false information about the “war bot”? Even if we suspect that the Ukrainian army does not take at face value the information collected in this way, the simple fact of being able to freely denounce the presence of tanks or troops on the ground can be counterproductive: risk of ambush, dissemination of conflicting information, etc. In a tweet, the SBU nevertheless specifies:
“Each message is first checked by the SBU, then sent to the army for validation. Please send the information in a clear and structured way. »
