Twitter fixes the bug causing its Mac app to crash
The Twitter app for Mac is working properly again. Several users had noticed a crash upon opening, while everything was normal before. This is explained by a remote manipulation made by the social network.
Users had noticed that the Twitter application on Mac was starting to crash, for no apparent reason. The simple fact of reopening it caused a new crash. A temporary solution was to uninstall then reinstall the app from the Mac App Store. But the bug reappeared anyway after a few minutes of use.
It turns out that the problem came from a feature related to the guest account. Twitter activated it remotely, without requiring an update from the Mac App Store. Enabling this tweak obviously caused more problems than anything else, so one solution was to remove it manually through the Finder.
A Twitter Mac app developer has confirmed the issue and noted that the function has been deactivated remotely. He announces that an update must be released on the Mac App Store so that everyone can normally use the application. Indeed, the feature has been disabled remotely, but users still encounter the problem of the crash when opening the Twitter application on Mac. Only an update will really solve the problem for all users.
