This is the new sports streaming service for live handball

Another streaming service: hit or miss? At least for handball fans, Dyn should fall into the first category. Because the new provider is showing exciting live games at the launch. Other sports are also included. An overview.

We already reported in February 2022 on the project of ex-DFL boss Christian Seifert and the Springer group. Now it has a name and a first goal: Because Dyn starts with handball, but overall offers a broad sporting program.

But: When does the streaming station go live, what can sports fans expect and how expensive is the offer? Seifert named the first important details.

Dyn: This is the new sports streaming service

Dyn will start his sports streaming program on August 23, 2023: “Your sport. your transmitter. Your new home.” It says very prominently on the “Dyn Media” website. Further down: “No show. No bill. Only the power of sport.” – Dyn is close to the audience and as down-to-earth as possible.

In the official press release Dyn announces that the “development of the new sports channel is making great strides.” The team led by Christian Seifert, Andreas Heyden and Marcel Wontorra has currently secured the rights to handball, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and hockey.

As befits a digital offer, you can receive handball and co at Dyn via smart TVs, laptops, tablets, PCs and smartphones.

Which handball games does Dyn show?

In the first live handball match that Dyn streams, the German champion and the DHB cup winner meet in the Pixum Super Cup 2023. Dyn also shows the first (“LIQUI MOLY”) and second national handball league for men and the first for women completely.

Dyn supplements the handball program with the DHB Cup and is also involved internationally in the women’s and men’s divisions. However, the broadcaster only streams Champions League and European League games if German teams are also involved.

Dyn versus DAZN: Can that work? Not only in handball does the new provider have a powerful competitor in the established player DAZN. At least theoretically, because everything currently sounds very cooperative – it is a “co-exclusive sublicense”, they say.

More competitions at Dyn

Whether live, in subsequent reporting or as other editorial content, Dyn also plays in these competitions in addition to handball:

  • Basketball: “easyCredit” basketball league, BBL cup and Champions League
  • Volleyball: Volleyball Bundesliga and DVV Cup for men and women
  • Table tennis: Table tennis Bundesliga and TTBL Cup
  • Field hockey: Bundesliga for men and women

In the first season, Dyn is even showing all hockey games free of charge – the live streams are on a Dyn YouTube channel.

Dyn costs: This is how much a Dyn subscription for handball and more costs

“When it comes to pricing, we rely on a simple, transparent and fair model,” says Andreas Heyden, CEO of Dyn Media.

This is how much the complete offer for all competitions will cost you when Dyn launches in August:

  • Annual subscription: 150.00 euros
  • Monthly subscription: 14.50 euros

As usual, the annual subscription is cheaper: calculated it is 12.50 euros per month. You can also cancel the monthly subscription on a monthly basis.

Dyn also does B2B

Dyn Media is not only aimed at sports fans, but sees itself as a comprehensive sports partner, as the COO, Marcel Wontorra, explains:

The partners of our Dyn Media Network are given the opportunity to distribute more moving image content than ever before via their own channels. In this way, specialist and regional media can also benefit from the attractiveness of our sports with game pictures and at the same time further increase their media presence.

A special feature is the “Move Your Sport” campaign. If you take out a subscription, you can specifically support one of the Dyn sports. “Ten percent of the net subscription price goes directly to the relevant league at no extra cost,” it says. Those responsible should then invest the extra money in the promotion of young talent.
